Usually designers use Illustrator 3D to make cute icons and creative text, but hardly ever use it for animation because of its limitations. This week I developed an iterative experiment for IIlustrator 3D where I transformed its context to make it a tool/function for making animations/motion graphics (although it is nowhere near as powerful as C4D and AE), but I hope to lead to a critical study through such an iterative experiment.
These days coincide with the Chinese New Year, and in the Chinese zodiac culture, 2023 is the year of the rabbit, symbolising happiness, harmony and transcendence, and with this I wanted to use elements of the Year of the Rabbit within my iteration of the experiment. After practising Illustrator 3D over the last week, I have a good grasp of most of the features. First I started by drawing some auspicious elements such as rabbits, copper coins, clouds, flowers and the moon.
