Unit 3: Projection 2 – Week 5

Sketch illustrations

The week before the Unit 3 deadline is undoubtedly the busiest and most anxiety-inducing time. However, I took a Twenty-minute Park Break, and it was undoubtedly effective. Being surrounded by nature brought a sense of calm and stability to my mindset. I experimented extensively with iterations in my illustrations. Illustration is not my strongest discipline, and I need to spend a lot of time pondering it. Nevertheless, it has the most vivid impact on my work. I want to create compelling and vivid pieces that allow my audience to feel the positive effects of nature‘s healing power.

Line of story

In my illustration works, each image presents interconnected elements of park nature, forming a progressive narrative story. In terms of style, I employ digital colored pencils to create a soft and warm natural ambiance. Through color, I aim to convey images filled with oxygen and warmth, providing audiences with an immersive sensory experience.

The visual format of the concertina book serves as the medium for presenting the illustrations. Its concise folding structure enhances the coherence of the illustrations’ reading experience while adding interest and flexibility. Additionally, the concertina book format allows for the creation of postcard books, where readers can tear off their favorite postcards along the dotted lines and carry them with ease.
